This is my finished front cover for my preliminary magazine:
The article titles are in line and to the same font which makes them easy to read and brings a sense of cohesion to it. The 'Free' at the bottom is in red to catch the reader's attention, and the 'win an iPad' is on the other side of the page, sepearting it from the articles so it stands out.The picture, a girl leaning on a tree, is simple and the tree behind her looks really pretty as it was taken in autumn so the leaves are orange. This gives a sense of tranquility to the cover, as trees are part of nature and the girl is smiling in a friendly manner.
The masthead of the magazine is big and bold, and written in a professional looking font, one that might be used for a newspaper heading. This makes the cover look more professional as it imitates more professional covers.
My contents page:
The contents page carries over fonts and articles from the cover. In each picture the person is smiling, creating a friendly atmosphere for the magazine. The font is simple (calibri) so easy to read and the titles are larger than the descriptions so the reader doesn't get confused. I have spaced out each article title equally, making it neater and thus easier to read and more aesthetically pleasing.
The englarged numbers make it clear which page the article is on so the reader can easily find it.
The house colour, blue, is shown at the top and bottom of the page, and goes well with the other colours, white and black.
